Air fryer Salmon burgers

These air fryer salmon burgers can be served as appetizers or main meals!

Many people buy an air fryer and only use it to make fries on the weekend. Air fryers can be great tools to have in the kitchen. If you have PCOS or any other hormonal health condition I highly recommend finding a Teflon-free brand. Teflon is an endocrine disrupter so we want to avoid any cookware containing Teflon. But once you do have a This recipe for these salmon burgers is absolutely delicious, crispy, and fun for the whole family to make! I even served to my friend’s fussy 4 year old and he asked for seconds.

  • Oven


  • 500 grams of fresh salmon or 3 cans of salmon packed in water
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 2 cups finely ground panko breadcrumbs -divided use gluten-free if needed
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup chopped onions
  • ¼ cup red and green bell peppers finely chopped
  • 2 ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup shredded cheese
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Salt and Pepper


If using fresh salmon start here…

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Rinse salmon with cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Place salmon on a silicone baking mat or dish lined with baking paper. Brush salmon with olive oil and top with salt and pepper.
  • Bake for ~ 10 minutes until the salmon is lightly cooked.
  • Remove dish from oven.
  • Scrape off the skin and cut the salmon into small pieces.

If using canned salmon skip the above and just start from the point on

  • Combine ½ cup breadcrumbs, beaten egg, all the Dijon mustard, the minced garlic, chopped onions, Greek yogurt,  chopped bell peppers, shredded cheese, and lemon juice in a large bowl, and mix well until you can see the mixture is completely combined.
  • Cut up the salmon into very small pieces and add them to your bowl.
  • In a separate dish, place the remaining breadcrumbs and Scoop up ¼ cup of the salmon mixture, and place into the breadcrumb dish.
  • Coat both sides of the patty with breadcrumbs and set aside. Repeat that process until you’ve used all of your mixtures. This recipe should make around 11 – 13 patties.
  • Place the patties in the fridge and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with spray oil, and place the salmon patties inside the basket. Spray the patties with oil.
  • Cook at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Once ready serve, garnish with some lemon juice and fresh green onions, and serve with aioli sauce, and a side salad or grilled vegetables.
